Smoke Cessation

Quitting smoking or vaping can be difficult, but there are proven treatments and strategies to help people quit tobacco and nicotine dependence successfully.   Free online resources and information on how to quit smoking are available at www.quitnowindiana.com.  You can call 1.800.QUIT.NOW for free assistance 24 hours 7 days a week.

Want to stay local? Individual and group meetings with a cessation counselor are available with the Franciscan Health Aspire Quit Smoking and Vaping Program.

Smoking is the leading cause of preventable disease and death in the U.S.  Although the percentage of adults who smoke is at an all-time low in the U.S., 34 million adults still smoke and therefore continue to be at risk of developing smoking-related diseases.  Quitting smoking reduces the risk of premature death, improves health, and enhances quality of life. Quitting can add as much as 10 years to life expectancy.
